A Little Bit About...Kevin
Kevin Costner....Straight, honest, and an wholesome as apple pie, he is the 'guy next door', an actor who is said to have replaced Robert Redford as cinema's most romantic leading man. Softly spoken with classic good looks, he is a man of action rather than words, a clean-cut hero in the tradition of Hollywood greats like Gary Cooper and Henry Fonda.
My Celebrity is the Hollywood sucess story of the nineties. The phenomenal popularity of "The Bodyguard" (Which broke box-office records), Dances With Wolves (his directional debut which won 7 Oscars), Robin Hood: (which covered its $55 million costs within 2 weeks of opening), JFK (Olivers Stone's controverial film about Kennedy assasination investigation), and the great American epic "Wyatt Earp". "Waterworld" has acheived notoriety as the most expensive film ever made (Waterworld ended up grossing over $300,000 making more than its money back aftering touring Europe). In 1996, Costner re-teamed with his Bull Durham director, Ron Shelton, for the romantic comedy "Tin Cup", which provided the filmmaker with a totally different type of role than in his previous effort, as the Mariner in the action epic "Waterworld". Most recently he produced, directed and starred in "The Postman" which didn't do so well at the box office due to the critics bashing it. I personally loved The Postman... I watched it Christmas Day on the largest screen in Colorado and again on the smallest screen in El Jebel just out side of Aspen never before had I ever seen a movie where the whole audience stood up and applauded it at the end.....Just released February 12th 1999...his movie "Message in a Bottle" a romantic movie about love lost and found...he not only stars in it but produced it. The first week it opened, it topped the box office grossing over 19.1 million.

And, my celebrity has a Casino in Deadwood, South Dakota called The Midnight Star..
The saloon featured in Kevin Costner's breakthrough movie, Silverado, was named The Midnight Star.... The casino has three levels of entertainment under one roof; gaming, bar & grill, and fine dining. On the top floor is Jakes fine dining which got a AAA four-diamond award for dining excellence. I must say I have personally experienced Jakes dining & it was worth the drive from Denver..... The second floor is Diamonds Lil's Sports Bar & Grills where we got to try the Midnight Star Signature Ale and look at costumes, props and memorabilia from Kevin's movie career on display. It's a beautiful casino with etched glass window, hand-rubbed wood, and polished brass, reflecting Deadwood at the turn of the century. Kevin and his brother Dan have excellent taste! .....
In progress is the building of The Dunbar Luxury Resort, also in Deadwood, South Dakota just east outside the main strip .. opening date ??
A Buffalo Sculpture has been made for the Resort.

Kevin and his brother Dan have created Costner Industries, which is working on important environmental advancements in the use of energy.....
Also a big Baseball Fan. Kevin was spotted in Denver at Coors Field in early July 7, 1998. He participated in the Home Run Derby. His team place second and he even got a home run....
December 19th, 1998... Kevin just won the Lexus Challange Golf Tournament with his pro partner Jim Colbert. The money he won will be donate to a Chartiy for abused children.... Pretty good Tin Cup......
